Wolcott's I am searching all Wolcott families and children of Mary (Liza Wolcott who married Robert Peasley from the Crown Point and Ticondiroga area some of the Wolcott's from Crown Point moved to Wisconsin and Ohio area's Moses moved there around 1815 his first child was born in Shoreham Vermont he married Mary Smith we assume from the Shoreham area also their son Samuel b. 1830 married Julia Washburn she died 1888 I am searching for their graves and nothing so far he owned a house on Sam Curan rd according to the 1876 map but he moved to Streetroad in Ticonderoga at least that is where he died according to one obit. I have a copy of his will. I know there is still relatives out there but not with the Wolcott name anymore if you know of someone please let me know as I have 20 years worth of geneology willing to share with family members.

I am researching Phebe, first wife of Horatio Wade/Waid. Phebe was born about 1834, in Essex County, according to the 1855 state census. Phebe married Horatio Wade/Waid about 1849 or 1850. They had children Clarissa, Zoa, Orrin, Ida, and Amelia, and lived in Essex and Lewis townships. Phebe died before 1859, when Horatio married Sarah James. I am trying to find the burial site of ASA GRANDY (Revolutionary War Vet)living in Westport, NY and died in the poor house in 1844. He was my (5th generation) grgrgrgrgrgrandfather. His wife SARAH CISCO GRANDY was denied a widow's pension according to Revolutionary War records as they were married after ASA was discharged by General Washington at West Point, NY. Does anyone know where someone who died in the local poor house gets buried? Are there any records that he was buried in the Wesport area? I am running out of ideas of where to look. I have been searching for many years for information about my Great-Great Grandparents, Joseph Parker & Sophie Champagne, who married in 1851, in Lewis, Essex, NY. I have recently run across an old postcard from their Grandaughter, my Great Aunt, dated 1927, in which she mentions the Parkers & the Plouffes who had farms on Johnson Pond Road. The Plouffes are also my Great Great Grandparents & I do have them back to France, but the Parkers have eluded me. Were they English?? Was the name Anglicized from Pacquin or some such? It was recorded as PARKER in a newspaper clipping on this site. Their death certificates state that they were from Canada, but where?? I do know that their daughter Julia married Paul DeZalia. Joseph's son Charles was my Great Grandfather. He married Rose de Lima Plouffe. Joseph's son Dolph (Adolphus) was killed in 1896. Julia's little son Willy died young. They are all buried in DeLorme Cemetery as are my Plouffe Great Great Grandparents. Sure could use some help. Any DeZalia's out there who are descended from Paul & Julia who might know more about Joseph & Sophie??? My grandfather was born in 1871 in Ticonderoga, New York. Can anyone tell me where I can obtain a copy of his birth certificate? The Town Clerk's Office's records don't go that far back. The New York State Dept. of Health don't have records prior to 1881.

Lydia and her children returned to Essex by 1870, after Alonzo died in the Civil War. John Lucha enlisted 11 Dec 1863 at age 18, possibly for the monetary incentives, with DeForest Cavalry, Co. C, 5th NY Cavalry. Enlistment was in either Essex or Clinton County. Here he built the first squared log house in town. When this house was built, the old log barn across the road had already been built for some time, and many think it was one of General Burgoyne's outposts. The old house was occupied by several generations until destroyed by fire in 1927 Sometime before 1850, William and Hannah moved to Gouverneur, St Lawrence Co, NY and there they lived until they died. They are both buried in a cemetery in Richville, NY. Our family Wilcox line only includes Calvin Wilcox born in 1837, and his daughter Lutie (Lucy) in Peoria County, IL. However in Peoria County in 1836 a Theron Wilcox purchased land, but never appeared in a census unless his name was mistaken as John Wilcox in 1840. Town Records Willborough,NY Vol.1 indicates my GGGGGfather Abel Pratt and his son Abel Jr. along with Silas and William, Amos, Abijah,Elijah and David Pratt all performed mandatory roadwork during the period 1791 until 1831. We believe Abel Sr. d.1808 in Willsborough. He owned land next to/sold to Elisha Higgins in 1806. Abt.1809/10 Abel Pratt Jr. has moved to St. Lawrence Co.and with him and his family there was a Nathaniel Higgins the first family to reside in Russell NY. Does anybody know of a connection. My lines do not show any inter marriages. Anybody researching the early Higgins families in Willsborough?

I've been told by two of Patrick's now elderly grandaughters that the name was shortened from PENDERGAST or something similar, as they remember relatives with the longer name. Margaret (HEHIR) PENDERS died in 1889, and the family then moved to Glens Falls, Warren County, about 1895. Patrick died in 1898 in Glens Falls, but was buried beside his wife in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Port Henry. Any shred of info is greatly appreciated!

According to 1900 census information, John H. Reed was born 3 Apr 1799, in VT. His father was born in Mass. and his mother in France. His 1863 OH Civil War enlistment papers say he was born in Virginia (Vergennes), VT, in 1819. The 1850 Cuyahoga Co, OH census lists hit birthplace as Plattsburgh, NY. Since Essex Co. is just across the state line from Vergennes, maybe he was born in Essex Co. He married two SPANGLER sisters in OH and had at least 11 children. Does anyone have any information on ol' John's family? He was supposed to have been the oldest living Civil War vet in IN in 1904, but would truly like to find his parents/siblings and prove where and when he was born!

I have several families all in the Ticonderoga, Essex Co, NY area. John PARSONSb. 1837 in Cornwall , Eng came to the area via Ft Henry as a boy. (1847 his father, Joseph came to the US to be Superintendant of the lead mines either on Chilson Rd, the Vinyard Rd or Port Henry) He married Martha CHENEY.1843-1929. She is apparently buried in the St Rd Cemetary . I do not know where he was buried. Martha and John had 9 children Eva Jane , William Henery, Anna Elizabeth, Julia b. 1866, Aura, Mary Susan Joseph and Addie Marie. Julia married 3 times the first to Allen MCLAUGHLIN. Then to George Congdon. Julia had 8 children total. Jennie 1886 born of Julia and Allen McLaughlin was my grandmother. Allen MCLAUGHLIN b1851 died about 1894. I do not know when he died or where he is buried. He was first married to Tille Barnum and had 2 children from that union she is buried in the West Side Cemetary in Ticonderoga. Allen was one of 6 known children of Seth (abt 1810- 1860-70) and Eunice WETMORE (1809-after1870) Eunice was born in Pittsford, Rutland Co, VT Seth was listed on the census of 1840 in Hubbardton, VT. I do not know Seth’ parents. Unverified research of others has indicted William Mc Laughlin and Catherin SWEETSIE.

My dad was born in Witherbee, (or Mineville) NY in 1912. His father was a coal miner by the name of Graziano Critelli. My grandmother's aunt ran a boarding house-her last name was probably Mauro. I'm just curious about the area and if there are still Critelli's/Mauro's upstate. My dad is doing great, living in Florida. One of his siblings still talks about the Spanish Influenza (1915?) and how they all survived because my grandfather made them wear a sack with garlic cloves in it tied around their neck!
